The Chest
Heart Disease - arrhythmia, bradycardia, tachycardia, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, hypotension, palpitations and more can be effectively treated with acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas. In the cases of a patient being on a prescription blood thinner or digoxin, we will use only acupuncture and qigong to treat. Heart conditions are very responsive to acupuncture treatment.
Chronic Chest Pain - often showing up as costochondritis or angina, responds quickly to acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha. We do not treat new, acute chest pain in this clinic. Heart attack must be ruled out for sudden onset of crushing chest pain plus symptoms such as feeling impending doom, cold sweats, pain radiating down the arms or up into the jaw. These are considered a medical emergency and must be assessed by a physician in the emergency room or urgent care clinic.
Asthma - Whether your asthma is triggered by cold air, over exertion, or allergens I can help you. Asthma is treated year round. When it is spring, we may focus on managing your reactions to allergens. In summer, there are special moxa treatments we do to prepare you for the fall and winter. In fall, we continue with moxa and focus on herbal medicine to moisten the lungs. In winter, we focus on warming and moistening the lungs. While this sounds like a lot, we are not managing symptoms. This is not just reactive medicine. We are treating the root causes so that in subsequent months and years you will need little to no treatment at all.
Rib pain, pain below the ribs, hiccups, diaphragm issues - These involve stagnation and qi flowing in reverse of its intended direction. They can be treated with acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha.
Chronic Cough - Having you ever developed a cough during a very stressful time in your life? That’s fairly quick to treat in clinic. Some acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine and you likely will feel better in a week or two. Other coughs can also be treated successfully once we figure out the root cause.
Esophageal Spasm - This usually responds fairly quickly to acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha in my experience.
