Deep, restful sleep:

The ultimate health tonic.

Come get some.

Chinese medicine considers insomnia to be any trouble sleeping, whether it’s trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, fitful or restless sleep, or even excessively vivid dreaming.

I love to help people sleep better. It changes everything in your life!

First two weeks, plan on two treatments per week and then we will likely adjust to once a week from there, depending on your constitution and how you're doing. Treatment for insomnia includes herbal formulas, ear seeding with charts and instructions, breathing exercises, TCM insomnia nutrition lesson, and relevant qigong to practice.

Here are some things different people experience. It can be one thing by itself, a mix, or even all of these:

Trouble falling asleep

The most frequent causes are:

  • overthinking- where the mind races and won’t quiet down enough to let you fall asleep

  • poor sleep hygiene- what you do just before you go to bed and once you’re in bed

  • conditions like anemia

  • digestive problems

Acupuncture and herbs, plus lifestyle recommendations work beautifully for this.

Trouble staying asleep

The most frequent causes are:

  • having to go to the bathroom multiple times a night

  • becoming suddenly overheated while sleeping

  • being easily awakened by noises or external stimuli

  • alcohol consumption before bed

  • digestive problems

These can take a little longer to treat, but acupuncture and herbs plus lifestyle changes are fantastic for it.

Fitful sleep or excessive dreaming or nightmares/night terrors

These unfortunate conditions are often caused by:

  • PTSD

  • trauma in general

  • longstanding trapped emotions

  • too much Heat, caused by spicy foods or a trapped pathogen

These conditions do require a comprehensive approach. Ear acupuncture, cupping, acupuncture, ear seeds, herbal medicine, and even qigong are part of the approach.

Supportive therapy from a licensed counselor can be of great help while trauma or emotions are released.

What if I just feel like I can’t get up in the morning?

Like everything in Chinese medicine, we figure out the CAUSE and treat it.

Some people wake up exhausted.

Some people wake up feeling like their limbs are just too heavy to get out of bed.

Some people just can’t face the day.

All of these are separate conditions that sometimes happen at the same time.

They are all treatable and with a month or so of treatments you won’t believe how much better you feel.

P.S. Energy drinks are making it worse!
