Men’s Health
Stress, Anxiety, and Phobias - I have had a great deal of success in and enjoy treating men for these conditions. Worry and stress affect men profoundly and very differently than they affect women. As far as fear and phobias, I’ve even had two or three patients with a phobia as specific as fear of driving over bridges who were able to overcome it. We’ll know by your 5th or 6th treatment if it’s going to work or not.
Prostatitis, Urinary Flow Difficulty, Dribbling - These significantly affect a man’s life. Having to wear protective undergarments or having to change pants often make life much more frustrating than it needs to be. This will require herbal medicine and fairly concentrated acupuncture treatments. No needles are ever inserted in the penis. In addition, if you are experiencing what is called “Post void micturition”, which is when you think you’re done, zip up, and then suddenly see wetness, there are specific techniques you can use yourself to significantly reduce this.
Erectile Dysfunction - Whether this is caused by emotional difficulties, hardening of the arteries, or other causes, it can be successfully treated with acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas with no side effects. Again, no needles are ever inserted in the penis.
Male Infertility - Most causes for this can be treated.
Osteopenia/Osteoporosis - Osteopenia and osteoporosis happen for a number of reasons such as dietary habits, family history, lifestyle, as well as medications such as thyroid supplements, corticosteroids, heparin, and higher intake of alcohol and tobacco. While more women than men experience these conditions, a hip fracture resulting from osteoporosis is more fatal in men. Many patients with osteopenia or osteoporosis do not want to rely on the current available medications. Changing dietary and lifestyle can prevent osteopenia progressing to osteoporosis, and help reverse osteoporosis with time. Herbal formulas, acupuncture, and qigong plus food therapy will be recommended.
